Everything about our trip to the Rocky Mountains in the summer of 2015 came away with a case of the Blues. Not because it was a bad trip, far from it, but because of the Washington Wildfires in August. The heavy smoke from south of the border wafted up north and became the overriding factor on many of our views of Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper. While smart people stayed indoors, some of us with no brains felt compelled to brave the smoke inhalation because of this unparalled beauty. The smoke also meant that I got to be out there pretty much by myself, and there is nothing I love better than the quiet and solitude of these stunning locations.
